A joyful early morning river walk
For my early morning walk this Sunday morning, I decided to go down to the river. It is always such a peaceful landscape and there was some early morning light frost this morning. I started by walking through a field with sheep grazing, through a gate and along a path that starts quite high above the river so that you have pretty views looking down on it. I always have to stop at a spot with a few tree trunks, perfect to sit on and reflect and journal. Feeling the early morning sun on my face makes me feel alive.

Actually, everything about this walk was joyful. I met a couple walking their dogs and they radiated joy. I felt privileged to briefly be in their space while we met, and it energised me. The highlight of my walk was when I was greeted by a group of swallows who had returned from their journey. I spent ages watching them as they engaged with me in a cheeky way by flying low over my head. They were literally dancing in the sky, full of joy. I had to record this moment as it was so special, it felt like a celebration of life.
As I continued on my walk I was visualising what I wanted my life to look like, in particular to get inspiration for my job as an aromatherapist. I don’t think I’ve talked about this here yet. I’m in the process of completing a massage course with the aim of becoming an aromatherapist. My dream is to work with plants, herbs and plant extracts to create beautiful scents, while also working with clients to help heal their nervous systems.
I’m in a very exciting time of my life right now and I am already learning to work with plants and nature to heal my own nervous system. I hope to be able to share some of that knowledge in this blog.
